Yacht delivery · Relief captain · Hands-on training
Year-round yacht delivery along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts, the Intracoastal, the inland rivers, the Great Loop, Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Sail or power, with or without owners aboard — navigated by a licensed 200-ton master and a professional crew.
Most estimates go back out within 24 hours.
What we do
The flagship is delivery. Everything else grew out of it — because the owner who just bought the boat usually needs to learn her, and the insurer usually wants that in writing.
The flagship

Yacht delivery →On your own boat
Boat handling, navigation, anchoring and systems — taught aboard your own vessel, in your own water, by the captain and a deckhand.
Hands-on training →Underwriter sign-off
The documented evaluation your insurer asks for before a policy activates — conducted and signed off by a licensed USCG master.
Insurance check rides →Owner-assisted passages
A professional aboard for your own passage — so you keep the helm and the trip, and someone experienced has the watch when it matters.
Relief captain →By the day
A licensed master for the day — deliveries, sea trials, new-owner orientation, or an extra pair of experienced hands when you need them.
Captain for hire →Dealers and buyers
A professional captain aboard for a prospective buyer’s sea trial — an independent read on how the boat actually runs.
Sea trials →How it works
Four steps, and no obligation until the deposit.
The delivery form takes about five minutes. It captures what is needed to chart the passage — length, draft, air draft, honest cruising speed, departure and destination.
Within 24 hours. Not a dispatch desk, not a form response — the person who will be aboard reads what you sent.
Optimal course allowing for safety, distance, water depth and bridge clearances, and a day count built from your vessel’s actual speed.
No obligation. Once a deposit is received, the estimate becomes the contract and your dates are held on the calendar.
Know what you are buying
These get used interchangeably and they are not interchangeable. Only one of them involves your boat running under her own power.
What we do
Your vessel moves under its own power, crewed by a captain and deckhands — coastlines, the Intracoastal, canals, inland rivers, offshore passages.
A different trade
The boat is hauled over the road on a trailer behind a truck. Different insurer, different license, and it never touches water. Required above 8.5 ft of beam or 13.6 ft of height.
A different trade
Your boat rides on a bigger boat. You may still need a captain standing by to pilot the vessel into the loading area when called.

Who is on the helm
You talk to the captain who will be aboard. I plan the route, watch the weather, commission the crew, and answer the phone when something needs deciding at two in the morning off Cape Fear. Problems arise on deliveries — that is the job — and they get solved rather than escalated.
Based in Central Florida, with intimate knowledge of Florida’s 1,300 miles of coastline, every navigable inlet, the Keys, and the Okeechobee Waterway across the peninsula.
I have never quit a delivery. Yacht delivery sounds romantic; it is long demanding days, weather that does not cooperate, and boats that were never designed for comfort. I know what I am signing up for.
The log
Sea Rays up the Mississippi, catamarans across the Straits, a 75-foot houseboat taken out into the Gulf. The log is not exhaustive — it is what got photographed.

Waters we know by name
Locks with their own hours, a lift bridge that decides whether your mast fits, a current that turns a pleasant crossing into a bad one. These are the routes owners ask about specifically.

A 6,000-mile circuit of America’s eastern waterways. Wherever you are on it, we can come to you.

Florida to the islands and back — the Gulf Stream, the weather window, and the customs paperwork on both ends.

The 154-mile canal route straight across Florida — five locks, and an air draft limit that decides everything.

The Mississippi system and its tributaries — currents, tows, locks and very few fuel stops.

The open-water shortcut across Florida’s Big Bend — and the one leg where you are properly offshore.

1,300 miles of coastline, every navigable inlet, and the state 90% of deliveries touch.
Where we go
The Atlantic seaboard, the Gulf, every navigable inland river from Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico, the Great Lakes, the Bahamas, the Caribbean and Canada. A large share of our clients are new buyers moving a freshly purchased vessel to her home port — often from a state they have never boated in.
Ninety percent of all vessel relocations start in Florida, end in Florida, or pass through it.

Every estimate starts with the delivery form. It takes about five minutes, and the more accurate your vessel’s speed and specs, the closer the estimate lands.
We do not share, rent or sell your information. Data is collected only to produce the estimate you asked for.
